Berkshire Bank Donates to 22 Nonprofits as Part of Xtraordinary Day of Service

PITTSFIELD, MA, June 29, 2016 - Berkshire Bank, America’s Most Exciting Bank®, has announced the winners of the “Catch Us in the Act” photo contest that was run in conjunction with their Xtraordinary Day on June 7, 2016.

During Xtraordinary Day, Berkshire Bank hosted a contest called, “Catch Us in the Act”, through which the public was encouraged to take photos of employees performing volunteer services at the designated volunteer project locations. Individuals were then able to complete an official entry form on Facebook or share the photo via Instagram or Twitter using #XTEAM as the caption. .

There were three winners chosen within each of the seven regions that Berkshire Bank serves, one employee and two non-employee winners, for a total of $2,100 in charitable donations. Some nonprofits chosen were the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, The CNY Veteran’s Outreach Center, Alzheimer's Foundation of America and Animal Friends of Connecticut.

“Our Xtraordinary Day was a year of firsts. Not only was this the first year we closed our entire organization to allow all employees to volunteer during our day of service, but this was also the first year that we invited the public to be involved in the process,” said Lori Gazzillo, VP, Berkshire Bank Foundation Director. “Because Xtraordinary Day is such an innovative concept, we wanted to spread the excitement beyond our employee base, and the Catch Us in the Act contest was the perfect opportunity. We thank all those who participated, and we look forward to continuing to engage the community in a personal way with future volunteer service days to achieve even greater impact.”

All Photos from Berkshire Bank’s Xtraordinary Day are available on the Bank’s Facebook page and the winning photos are also available upon request.
